Job Summary: 

  • Management position who will also be required to directly support maintenance efforts via hands-on involvement. 
  • Maintenance of existing and future facilities and equipment with any type of software, physical tools and / or maintenance support equipment available.
  • Specify type and layout of equipment necessary for current and future efforts.  Assist with coordination of installation of equipment associated with future efforts.
  • Develop maintenance standards and specifications for companywide implementation.
  • Develop, maintain and administer a companywide Maintenance schedule.
  • Develop and maintain a companywide Equipment Catalog.
  • Support the Operations team by working in a safe, orderly manner.
  • Develop and design innovative solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors when required, and be on call for emergencies.
  • Complete Permit to Work paperwork in accordance with company policy.
  • Complete Management of Change documentation when required, in accordance with company policy.
  • Handle multiple internal and externally sponsored projects and daily activities, manage to and meet deadlines, and develop & track plans on how to accomplish Operational goals.
  • Work with Safety department leadership to understand, implement, and audit safety programs. Ensure that all safety programs and procedures are followed.
  • Develop and Document Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO) for all production equipment, companywide.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with Operations leadership.
  • Facilitate technical and safety training, as well as help to develop professional development of maintenance associates.
  • Own and promote excellent housekeeping.
  • Participate in Warehouse & Production Safety and Quality calls and / or meetings, as required.
  • Ability to travel to various sites as needed.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Experience with the following: Automated Conveyor Systems and Controls, Electrical and Electronic principles, Blueprint and Electrical Schematic reading, CMMS Programs, Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) procedures, Industrial Electrical, Industrial Controls (PLCs), Industrial Electronics, Industrial PC literary, N.E.C.  Experience with the Internet of Things (IOT) a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, millwright, pipefitting, rigging and welding in an industrial maintenance role is required. 
  • Demonstrated experience with equipment operation and optimization.
  • Minimum education required: Associate’s degree or higher.  Significant experience, qualifications and professional credentials may be considered in addition to, or in lieu of, college diploma.
  • Ability to perform physical labor for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Physical ability to climb, bend, and squat. 
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift items overhead, and use proper rigging techniques to safely do so when needed.
  • Able to use hand tools and power tools in completion of duties.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work any day of week, as required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, as required.
  • Must be able to direct work and provide support to those whom he’s directing.
  • Must review and provide feedback to any direct reports in accordance with company policy.
  • Must be able to read, review and mark up blueprints and designs to support maintenance and equipment installs, as required.  Use of 3D modeling programs and equipment a plus.

Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Screen, Hire and onboard new personnel, as directed by senior management. 
  • Instruct new employees on Plastic Express cultural cleanliness and orderliness expectations.
  • Mentor all maintenance associates by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals and make a consistent effort to go above and beyond.  Must have the ability to provide specific, enriched feedback to enhance individual performance, and provide associates with written performance appraisals including discipline and up to termination.
  • Develop and administer companywide Maintenance Program.

Must be able to work long hours, weekends and holidays when needed. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The job requires long periods of standing, and may be required to teach a class and / or provide presentations to internal and external visitors.  .

Must be able to perform physical labor such as routinely lifting up to 55 pounds, moving up to 250 pounds, climbing ladders, operating control panels and working with hand tools.

Employee must possess vision abilities required by this job function to include close visual confirmation of finely printed documents, have distance vision to safely and correctly identify objects and or markings. Must have peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus on subjects or objects at any safe working distance.  Must be Fork Lift Certified and maintain proper certification during the employment period.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, extensive knowledge of construction and machinery mechanical functions, maintenance requirements, failure analysis, FRA and OSHA regulations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct reports, but has management level responsibilities and will direct company visitors and contractors throughout the project period.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an industrial, warehousing and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners.  The use of several different types of software and e-mail management, often with limited connectivity, is required.  During certain periods, the project manager must operate outdoors and / or in an environment where only limited protection from the elements will be available.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position. Work days are generally Monday through Friday, with some instances of work needed on the weekends.  Hours will be dependent on the project needs that is being done at the time.  Site construction and installation may operate in some cases up to 24 hrs/day. Warehouse Maintenance Manager will need to work at whatever times best suits the project goals.
